Terms and Conditions
Please carefully read the below terms and conditions of The Grooming Lab.
 
By making an appointment at The Grooming Lab you agree to the following conditions.
 
 
Cancellations, late arrivals and no-shows
·      A strict no-show policy is adhered to at our salon. All cancellations due to whatever reason must be made at a minimum 24 hours before your booking.
·      If you would like to cancel your booking within 24 hours of the appointment a $30 charge will be applicable.
·      If you are running late to your appointment please ring and advise us. You will be charged a late fee of $10 for being up to 14 minutes late.
·      On and after 15 minutes we have the right to cancel your appointment and $60 (1 hour minimum) fee will be charged. In this case, you will need to pay this fee before you can re-book.
·      If you are a continuous offender (3 or more times) you may not be able to make any more appointments at our salon OR you may be required to pay a decided upon deposit prior to the appointment time.
 
Matting
·      Should your dog need to be fully clipped due to heavily matting, you understand there is always a risk of minor nicks and irritation (clipper burn) due to unseen warts, moles or skin that can be pulled up into matts.
·      To ensure the comfort of your dog, extremely matted pets must be clipped with an appropriate blade. The groomer will try their best in notifying you if this must occur.
·      Clipping matts can be extremely taxing on the groomer, the dog and our equipment. In the case of heavy matting, you understand that this will result in extra cost. This is charged at $15 per 15 minutes of matting removal.
·      In the case of extreme matting to the point of interfering with other clients appointments, you agree that you dog may need to be sent home unfinished. In this situation you must re-book your dog to complete the groom at a later time.
 
Double Coat shaving
·      The Grooming Lab will not complete double coated dog shave downs unless medically necessary (as stated to me from your dog’s Vet Practice) or to the point of compacted matting where brushing is not an option. We strongly advise against this practice.
·      This applies to for example – Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Newfoundlands, Corgis, Samoyeds, Pomeranian, Border Collies, etc.)
 
Pick-ups and drop-offs
·      You must not enter the premises to collect your dog unless the groomer has asked you to do so. If you arrive early and the groom is not complete, please wait in your car and your dog will be brought out to you.
·      You must inform staff if anyone other than yourself will be picking up your dog. We will not hand your dog over to strangers.
·      Due to limited space and resources you understand that pick up of your dog must occur within a maximum of 30min after contacting you, unless otherwise agreed upon. After 30 minutes you will charged an additional $10 and another $10 for every 15 minutes of lateness after that.
 
Health
·      All dogs vaccinations are to be current and kept up to date. At the minimum this must be the C3 vaccination. Proof of vaccination may be required.
·      All dogs must be wormed and it is the owners responsibility to do so.
·      Dogs must be flea treated and free of contagious infections. Dogs with fleas will not be accepted. If your dog is found to have fleas, all grooming will cease and you must come and collect your dog immediately. In the rare case that we allow to continue the booking, a $25 salon clean down fee will be applied.
 
Safety and Welfare
·      Grooming can be a very stressful experience for some dogs. It is the owners responsibility to disclose any health conditions, illness or injuries before the appointment commences.
·      If at any point we feel the dog is under too much stress and it becomes unsafe to continue the groom, you may be contacted to collect your dog with the remaining services to be completed at a later time at no extra cost.
·      Owners may also be asked to collect their dogs if the groomer feels as though they are at risk of their own safety if they continue.
·      Please notify the groomer if you would not like your dog to socialise with resident dogs or other clients during their appointment.
·      In the event of small nicks, cuts, nail bleeds etc during the appointment you will made aware of these on pick-up of your dog. You also understand that the groomer will do their best in preventing such to occur in the first place and that accidents can be common during grooming.
 
Behaviour
·      Groomers have the right to refuse servicing dogs out of their capability due to their behaviour i.e. aggression, difficulty.
·      You understand you need to inform staff prior to their appointment if their dog has aggressive tendencies or other behavioural issues during grooming or in normal situations.
·      The groomer has the right to reject unsocialised dogs or any dog that puts the resident dogs or other clients dogs in danger. 
 
Privacy
·      For the safety of our clients, information regarding health and medical conditions are recorded to inform us is any services should or should not be applied. It is the owners responsibility to inform of such conditions prior to their booking.
·      All records are kept on a secure data base only accessible by the groomer.
·      You may choose to not have you dog posted on the business social media platforms. You must specify this prior to your pets first appointment.
 
 
Liability
·      The Grooming Lab has full Public Liability Insurance in the event of any damage, accident and loss to your pet or our staff.
·      The Grooming Lab is not liable for any medical or vet costs. However, the client/owner(s) accepts and gives permission for the groomer to obtain emergency Veterinary treatment for your dog at the client/owner(s) expense should it become necessary.
·      The client/owner(s) agrees that The Grooming Lab shall not be held liable for any after grooming effects that matt clipping may produce or any problems uncovered on the badly matted neglected coat.
·      The Grooming Lab provides all dogs with a bow or other accessories to compliment their groom. The client/owner(s) understands that these bows or accessories can be a choking hazard and understands that they are only safe for your dog to wear whilst supervised.
·      I acknowledge that accidents can and do happen and I hereby release The Grooming Lab and its staff from any and all responsibility involving, injury, escape, damage or disease during and after their grooming appointment.
·      Any complaints or dissatisfaction must be notified and discussed on completion of the groom, before leaving premises. In the event of any agreed additional grooming, as goodwill the dog must be returned within 2 days.
